LED Surfaces programmed to make coloured light show Description of the installation made by Hikari srl ( www.hikari.eu ) for Ciam SpA at the international expo of Artisan Production of Gelato, Pastry, Confectionary and bakery or SIGEP (Salone Internazionale Gelateria Pasticceria e Panificazioni Artigianali) held in Rimini, Italy from 17-21 January 2009. Hikari srls new Installation for Ciam SpA The walls, with software programmable LED backlighting, are part of a new chassis for a professional pastry and ice-cream refrigerator produced by Ciam SpA and presented for the first time at Rimini SIGEP. Ciam SpA, based in Umbria, is the European industry leader and was awarded one of the "Top Five Stands SIGEP 2009" at this years expo. LED RGB* Technology: The two LED panels on the counter face and mounted on the wall, measure 500 x 100 cm and 500 x 125 cm respectively. Each panel is composed of tiled modules measuring 25 x 25 cm each. The modules are connected to one another through a simple cabling system, forming large surface areas onto which lighting effects are displayed uniformly across the expanse. Each module contains 16 individually controllable RGB LEDs. Control System and Stand Alone function: For every 20-module expanse, a DMX control unit is required which programs the lighting effects via a dedicated Windows XP software program.
